Skill Level Descriptions
Beginner: wave dynamics, ocean safety, paddling, surf etiquette, stand up and riding techniques.
Intermediate: wave judgment, riding the curl, angled takeoffs, trimming and cutbacks.
Advanced Longboarding: cross stepping, nose riding, side slipping, head stands, re-entries and cutbacks.
Advanced Shortboarding: off the lips, bottom turns, deep pocket riding, floaters, carving and competition strategies.
Expert Longboarding: Hanging Ten, Hanging Heels, Helicopter 360's, floaters, roundhouse cutbacks and tube riding.
Expert Surfing: (Shortboards and Big Wave Guns) late drops, tube riding, aerials, roundhouse cutbacks, lip rides, 360 maneuvers, big wave training and more.
Getting There
Stand Up Paddle Lessons
Beginner Group SUP Lesson:
In this two hour lesson, we introduce Stand Up Paddle (SUP) fundamentals, etiquette, condition awareness, safety, proper paddling techniques and self-rescue. We offer Private, Semi-Private, Group and Private Groups available by reservation. Form your own private group with 3 or more. Larger group discounts are available upon request for groups of 6 participants or more. Special sessions for women or men only, wedding parties, bachelor/ette, parties, corporate team building, school groups, church groups, birthday parties, Yoga and Stand Up Paddling retreats are also available.
Price: 2 hour lesson $120 per person (Ages 11 and up)
Group follow-up SUP Lesson
One or Two hour Group Follow-Up Lessons are designed for anyone who has previously taken any SUP lesson with us. Improve Your Skills! Join other students to receive more helpful tips from our Master Instructors using our specially designed boards.
Price: $105 per person (Ages 11 and up)
Semi Private SUP Lesson
This is specifically for the Stand Up Paddler who wants to learn to ride waves and learn the intricate dynamics of the surf zone. In this Semi Private Lesson we will cover:
- How waves form and why they break the way they do.
- SUP Surf Etiquette,
- Getting in and out of the surf safely
- Going over and through white water and breaking waves.
- Proper paddle techniques for catching and riding waves.
- Wave riding techniques: Turns, cutbacks, reentries pocket rides, tube rides, nose rides and more!
- How to safely handle your equipment in breaking waves and much more.
We will even help you figure out what is the best equipment for you to use and help you save money when you purchase your own gear.
Price: One-Hour lesson: $150 per person with two or more (Kids 10 years and under must take Private lesson or a Semi-Private lesson with another person that is at least 12 years old.)
Semi-Private SUP Lesson w/ Ed
Learn to Stand Up Paddle or Stand Up Paddle Surf in your own exclusive two hour semi-private lesson with your family members or friends. These sessions offer a greater level of instructor attention than our standard group lessons. With 2 to 3 students with Ed as your instructor, they are tailored to fit any skill level or age.
Price: w/Ed: $200 per person for 2 hour session (ages 8 and up)

Private Stand Up Paddle Instruction w/ Ed
For those who want one-on-one Stand Up Paddle (SUP) instruction with Ed, the creator of the instructional methods. These sessions are highly recommended for students who want to bring their Stand Up Paddling / SUP Surfing to the next skill level. Private instruction is available in 1, 1 1/2 or 2-hour sessions.
Price: $200 per hour (all ages)
